Spiti Valley
Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located in Himachal Pradesh in India, is often proclaimed by those who see it to be world within a world. With an average height of around 12,500 feet above sea level, it consists of stark high-altitude alpine land. Various peaks from where you can get panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountains and snow-crowned mountains welcome you when you set foot into Spiti Valley. The entrance to Spiti from Manali is through Rohtang pass and is usually open only between June and early October. It is accessible only by road from either Manali or Shimla.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Spiti is September month or you can also make a trip from the middle of June to July month as well. In September, the road conditions are best in shape with tamed water crossings.
How to Reach
By Air: – Spiti can be reached either from Manali or via Shimla. Indian Airlines and some private airlines operate regular flights to Bhuntar Airport, the nearest airport to Manali. Another option is Shimla Airport from Delhi and Chandigarh.
By Train: – Shimla and Chandigarh are the nearest railway stations. Buses and taxis are available from Shimla and Chandigarh to reach Spiti.

By Road: – Spiti is mostly reached by road from Delhi via the route through Rohtang Pass which then continues till Chattru and Battal and then to Chandratal. Another route stretches from Shimla via Kaza, Losar and Kuzum La Pass. The road journey is full of most mesmerizing views, finding a place in your heart forever.
