Rose Garden Chandigarh

The huge rose garden of Chandigarh is the largest rose garden in Asia. Only rose flowers are stored in this huge garden. Spread over nearly thirty acres of land, around 1600 species of different varieties of rose flowers have been planted in this garden. Although the Gulab garden is always frequented by tourists, but during the three-day annual ‘Rose Festival’ held here, this garden remains the main center of attraction for all. This famous festival has been happening continuously here for the last two decades. It is organized by the Chandigarh administration and the local tourism department.

Many cultural programs – Giddha, Bhangra, Haryanvi and Rajasthani dances are performed during the festival. Comparisons related to painting, flowers and photography for children are also conducted during this period. After the winter season, in February – March, when spring comes so the fragrance of rose flowers in this garden smells all around. In such a situation, cold springs touching the sky of the fountain in the middle of the garden make the mind happier.

Best Time to Visit Chandigarh

The best time to visit Chandigarh is between August and November, when the fall is in its prime, and the weather is neither too hot nor too cold. There is an overall pleasant weather that is apt for travelling.

How to reach Chandigarh

By Air: – The airport is 11 kilometers from the city center. Taxis are available from the airport. Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Air Deccan, etc. are available from Chandigarh Airport to almost all major cities. The Chandigarh administration has a well-organized tourism information center at the airport.

By train: – Chandigarh is connected to the national capital New Delhi by rail. Chandigarh railway station is at a distance of 17 to 8 km from the center point of the city.

By Road: – The city of Chandigarh is well connected by road and buses are available as important transportation. Bus services are available from here to various states like Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi etc.
