Clement and fabulous weather is the charm which Sangla provides and that too throughout the year except for winters, when it’s chilling but snowfall during winters has its own appeal and charm. Monsoon season spread from July, August to September in the year. The town receives a regular flow of tourists throughout the year except for in monsoons. As it rains heavily and you may not be able to wander around in Sangla and it may ruin your trip. Due to heavy downpours, Sangla experiences landslides and tree felling. Therefore, this particular point of year is not advisable for planning a trip to the queen of hills.

The monsoons are making a way for the chilling winters and are a step before it. Earlier in July the rains are not cold but as the time progresses, by the end of September cold winds are experienced and one cannot do without light woollens. The temperature during days may be as high as 250c and may drop down in nights to 150c. As sometimes much precipitation does not occur during this month and if sun shows its presence people comes out in sun. Trying to dry up the humidity and freeing them from being bound to rooms during monsoons. And minutes after, it may rain ruining the plans of enjoying sunshine. But this is the significance of monsoon season.

During monsoon what is prominently visible in nature is lush greenery all around in the town. Fields, landscapes are all covered with long and overlooking grasses and different type of wanted and unwanted plantation. The natural watering to plantation causes an enormous growth and green hue is covering the whole hill station. It’s cloudy and raining. August month is one of the monsoon months in Sangla. The monsoons are less in this month and fade away opening way to the winter season.  Occasional rainfall and showers dot the Sangla weather in August month.  The fog and mist covers the landscapes and mountains. If the mist is dense enough one can have visibility up to 1-2 meters only.

The temperature in August month may sometime drop down considerably and it can vary between 15oc in nights and 25oc during days. Sun hardly shows its presence and sometimes when rays come from dispersing clouds, rainbows can be seen. The view of seven colours in a hilly area like Sangla is very ravishing and alluring.

As far as tourism is concerned, hotels are running at normal business but in the week having the 15th August holiday there is huge rush in Sangla as tourists are able to spare 2-3 days combining the weekend and this holiday.

Being a monsoon season month there is greenery all around and one see the fresh grass on the mountain sides. The landscape of hills and slopes covered with green deodar and chil trees have their leaves washed and look more bright.
