Govindgarh Fort was earlier called Bhangian Da Fort and if you go to Amritsar, you must go here. Gujjar Singh Bhangi’s army of Misal built this fort in 1960 with brick and lime. It also has four huge fortifications, two strong iron gates and a perkota. This fort was rebuilt by Maharaja Ranjit Singh between 1805 and 1809.

In 1849, the British took possession of this fort. He built the Durbar Hall, Hawa Mahal and the hanging houses here.
