This temple, situated on more than 100 acres of land, is located in the foothills of the Shivalik Hills. Devotees from all over the country visit this temple during the Navratri fair. This temple was built by Maharaj Gola Singh during 1811-1815. It is a symbol of Himalayan faith and culture. The Himalayas are considered the abode of Shiva and Shakti.

The walls of the temple are decorated with 38 panels of frescoes. The arches and ceilings are adorned with floral paintings. However, these are not very artistic but still reflect different themes. The architecture of the main temple represents Mughal architecture with domes and minarets.

During Navratri, proper arrangements for accommodation and darshan are done by the trust of the temple. Tent housing, carpets, blankets, temporary toilets, temporary dispensaries, fair police checkpoints and lines are some of the facilities available at this time of year. Strict steps are taken for the movement of devotees.

History of the temple

It is believed that Ravana was returning from the Himalayas after doing penance. He was accompanied by the goddess Shakti. This goddess Shakti was blessed with austerity and got her boon. While granting the boon, the condition was that Ravana would not keep the power of the goddess in the middle. If they put the power somewhere in the middle, then this power will be established at that place.

When Ravana came to this place, he got to pee, and he caught a villager going from there and he give it Goddess Shakti to him. As soon as the Goddess Shakti went into the hands of the villagers, she was established at the same place. Ravana made a lot of efforts to carry Goddess Shakti with her, but could not succeed. Later, the temple of Mother Manasha Devi was established at this place.
