How to Reach Kufri

The best way to reach Kufri is to reach Shimla and then you can hire a taxi or take a local bus. Shimla to kufri distance is 15km and it will take one hour to reach. Shimla is well connected to Delhi, Chandigarh and Kullu-Manali by roadways, by airline and by railways.

The Shikari Devi Temple is about 18 km from Janjhali and the area of ​​the forest is connected by road. It is situated at an altitude of 3359 MRT. Being the highest peak of Mandi district, it is also known as the Crown of Mandi. Mata Shikari Devi is happy to sit under the open sky. Be it rain, thunderstorm, storm, mother prefers to live under the open sky. The interesting aspect is that there is never any snow on the mother’s bodies.

Beauty of this place

The lush green pastures, captivating sunrise and sunset, panoramic views of the snow borders make this place a favorite for nature lovers. This place receives a lot of snow during the winter. The footpath can be approached by Karsog which is just 21 km away from Shikari Devi. On the top, there is a roofless temple of Shikari Devi, the goddess of hunters and this temple is established by the Pandavas. It is said that sage Markande also meditated on this place for many years.

It has been observed that despite the fact that there is no roof of the temple; no snow is seen in the temple premises during winter when the entire area around this temple is covered by several feet of snow. Visitors can travel to Chindi, Karsog, Janjhali via various trek routes from Shikri.

How to reach Shikari Devi Temple

By Train:- Mandi has no railway station of its own and the nearest railway house is situated in Joginder Nagar which is nearly 55 km away from Mandi. You may also choose to go to Chandigarh Railway Station or Kalka by broad gauge train which are connected by regular bus and taxi services.

By Road:- Banjar Bus Stand is the nearest major bus station, with buses to other cities. Shikari Devi Bus Stand (Janjehli) is a local bus stop with limited bus frequency.

By Air:- The nearest airport to Mandi is the Kullu Airport at Bhuntar, at a distance of about 60 km from Mandi city. From Delhi, flights to Kullu take about 90 minutes.
